At United Airlines Flight Training Services, he designed numerous highly sophisticated systems including:
  • Campus Information Systems, an architecture with an on-line maintenance system for communications via kiosks located throughout the campus.
  • An automation and process flow architecture for Flight Training which was later adopted by all business units of UAL Services as the core template of customer business flow.
  • A communications architecture and process for the interface of security access control, flight simulators, scheduling systems and financial transaction data
  • He also managed implementation and integration of all of the above into remote access, providing total campus control for the corporate Information Services Division.
  • Mr. Larson received the Award of Merit for his accomplishments in the creation, design, management and implementation of the world’s first artificially intelligent real-time multimedia Air Traffic Control system.

Richard Russon

Mr. Russon joined the Forge Technology team as an advisor and consultant in 2007. He has worked with members of the Forge Technology team many times over the past fifteen years.

Mr. Russon is an experienced professional with a diverse background in business analysis/planning, client development, and project management. His career path has evolved from software and hardware development through project management, operations, and overall company building. He is accomplished in bridging the communication gap that often develops between management and technical teams.
Rick’s experiences include:
  • Worked with eight Divisions of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources to develop a department-wide IT security program.
  • Set up a six-person company to test over 5000 software routines for an aircraft navigation system. Completed testing by the original deadline that the client’s internal testing organization said could not be achieved.
  • Rewrote the entire software product for a Unix-based card access security system in four months. This eliminated the majority of customer problems, provided a reliable baseline for additional product development, and allowed sales to resume.
  • Rewrote many routines of a Space Shuttle flight simulation to reduce the duty cycle from 98% to 55%. This allowed the implementation of additional software that simulated the Remote Manipulator System. Received a commendation from NASA and Lockheed. Also, was required by NASA to be one of two people present at all times in the lab during the flight of the first Space Shuttle – STS-1.
  • Set-up a six-person company to test over 5000 software routines for a commercial aircraft navigation system with results sent to the aircraft manufacturer, airlines, and FAA.
  • Wrote the backup navigation routines for the Air Force One (747) aircraft.
  • Managed the 36 person Engineering, Manufacturing, and Customer Service departments of a company that produced access control security systems for General Motors, Chase Manhattan Bank, Rockefeller Center, etc. Wrote the real-time controller routines for this product in C on an ATT-3B2 Unix platform.
  • Managed an 18-person effort for Litton to develop a Global Positioning System (GPS) navigation receiver for use on commercial aircraft. Traveled to other Litton divisions in Germany to coordinate the integration of GPS into their products.
  • Responsible for programming, operating, and troubleshooting a multi-computer NASA flight simulation as Shift Leader of 15 people. Wrote FORTRAN programs to test avionics for the first five Space Shuttle missions at Johnson Space Center.
Mr. Russon holds a B.S with honors in Physical Oceanography (Fluid Physics) from the Florida Institute of Technology.
